Infancy
  • become a part of a play group so your baby will have opportunity to interact with other babies
  • talk to your baby
  • allow other safe adults to interact with your baby
Toddler
  • take your child to the park and allow the child to interact with other children
  • put your child in situations (a play kitchen, grocery store,  play house) for your child to play in make shift social situations
Early and Middle Childhood
  • enroll your child in programs for children to allow you child opportunities to socialize with other children
  • continue to place your child in an environment where they can "play pretend"
Adolescents
  • allow your child to participate in school event such as dances
  • continue to encourage your child to participate in social situations such as organized events, parties or sporting events
